Zero compromise steel
From rural Sweden to global change, SSAB is leading the way for industries everywhere. The big story is making fossil free steel production happen — not in the cloud, not in the future, but in Oxelösund, Sweden. A million small steps throughout the years has led us to the construction of the world’s first electric arc furnace. By producing emission-free steel, made from scrap metal and fossil-free iron ore, SSAB will reduce Sweden’s total CO2 emissions by 3%. It’s an account of courage, complexity and engineering, boldly communicated to the world in the language of film.
